Privacy policy

Summary

We collect your email address and the details you add to your profile and your company's profile, so that companies on CrewNexo can find and work with each other. We record how the app is used so we can improve it. We do not sell your information.

Information you give us

Your email address, your name, your trade or title, the language you want emails in, and a photo if you add one.

If you set a password, it is stored only in a form that cannot be reversed. When you choose a password, we check it against Have I Been Pwned's list of passwords exposed on other websites; only the first five characters of a one-way hash are sent, never the password or your email.

For your company: its name, base ZIP code, phone number if you add one, the areas it works in, its trades, crew size, languages, availability, a description, a logo or photo, and the people on its team.

If you signed up on crewnexo.com before the app opened, we link your account to that signup by email address.

Who can see it

People who belong to a company on CrewNexo can see company profiles and the name, title and photo of the people on them. Your team can see everyone on the team. When you leave a company, you lose access to its private information, and your work history keeps a record that you worked there.

Messages belong to the two companies in the conversation. Everyone at both companies can read them, including people who join later. When you leave a company, you can no longer read its messages; the messages you sent stay in the conversation under your name.

When a message is edited or deleted, the conversation shows that it was. We keep the earlier text, which only CrewNexo can see, for handling reports of misuse.

Analytics

We record how the app is used, such as the pages you open and what you tap, so we can improve it. The text of messages, passwords and sign-in codes are not recorded.

When something in the app fails, we record the error (what failed, where, and on which page) so we can fix it. Error reports never include message text, photos, passwords, sign-in codes or invite links.

Photos

When you add a photo, we save a new copy and discard the original file, including its location, date and camera details. When you replace or remove a photo, the old one is deleted.

Profile photos and logos are stored at web addresses that are not listed anywhere. Anyone who has the address can view the picture.

Photos sent in messages are private to the two companies in the conversation and are shown through links that expire after an hour. If you delete the message, its photos are hidden and kept, like its text, for handling reports. A photo we remove for breaking the rules is deleted.

Service providers

These companies process information on our behalf so that CrewNexo can work:

• Supabase: database and file storage.
• Resend: email delivery.
• PostHog: usage analytics.
• Vercel: hosting.

How long we keep it

Your account and profiles are kept until you delete your account (Profile, Your data) or ask us to. Messages stay in their conversation while the companies in it are on CrewNexo, including the earlier text of edited and deleted messages. Usage recordings are deleted after 30 days. If you leave a company, the company keeps its history and your work history keeps a record of it.

When you delete your account, your profile, sign-in and work history are deleted. Messages you sent and jobs you ran stay with the companies, shown as from a deleted account. If you are the only person at your company, the company closes too: it leaves search and profiles, and the companies it worked with keep the jobs you verified together. The only owner of a company with other people makes someone else an owner first. To look into misuse reported before an account was deleted, we keep a record that it existed and which companies it was part of, without your name.

If an email we send you does not arrive (it bounces, is marked as spam or cannot be sent), we keep a record of which kind of email it was, the address, when and why, for 90 days, so we can help when a sign-in code goes missing. Never the email itself.

If we suspend an account or a company under the terms, its data is kept as it is while it is suspended, and the suspension, its reason and who decided it are recorded.

Your choices

From your profile (Your data) you can download a copy of the information we hold about you, and delete your account. You can also email hello@crewnexo.com for either, or to correct your information or stop analytics for your account.

The app does not respond to browser Do Not Track signals; you can ask us to stop analytics for your account instead.

What we do not do

We do not sell, rent or trade your information, build advertising profiles or send text messages.

Changes to this policy

When we change this policy, we update this page and the date at the top. We email you about significant changes.
